Precise Biometrics has partnered with RCO Security. The deal has already seen Precise’s YOUNiQ – Access solution integrated into the access control system deployed at RCO’s Järfälla headquarters.
YOUNiQ – Access is an AI-based software solution that integrates face biometrics capabilities into access control systems. Through this latest partnership, facilities with RCO’s access management systems will now have a contactless biometric authentication option.
The RCO partnership is notable for two reasons. First, this fits into a larger industry trend, in which physical access control suppliers are scrambling to bring contactless biometric security options to their systems in the wake of COVID-19 safety measures. Face biometrics have been steadily growing in popularity as organizations seek ways to keep spaces protected while minimizing the need to touch shared surfaces.
Secondly, the partnership marks further success in Precise’s expansion strategy. The biometric software company made its name during the “mobile revolution” as a leading supplier of fingerprint algorithms for smartphones. YOUNiQ represents the company’s efforts to branch out into other modalities and applications.
“During 2020, we have taken large steps in the development and commercialization of YOUNiQ. This collaboration represents an important milestone as we now enter the next phase, to scale up and launch the product widely in the Nordic market,” said Precise CEO Stefan K. Persson.
Given that Precise has announced multiple YOUNiQ customers in 2020, highlighting a recent deployment with Temporary Space in its positive Q2 report, it seems safe to say the company’s strategy is paying off.
