RaonSecure has announced support for simplified authentication login for the National Tax Service’s Home Tax year-end tax settlement service through its integrated authentication platform. The new authentication environment will be implemented starting January 15, 2025, marking a significant evolution in South Korea’s digital identity infrastructure.
Through RaonSecure’s “OmniOne CX” integrated authentication service, users can access the Home Tax system using various private authentication certificates, including those from Naver, KakaoTalk, Pass, Toss, Shinhan, Hana, and KB. The platform emerged following the revision of the Electronic Signature Act, which eliminated mandatory certified digital certificates and opened the market to private authentication services.
The service provides multiple identity verification methods, incorporating private authentication certificates alongside credit card-based, certificate-based, joint authentication, and financial authentication options. RaonSecure’s blockchain-based digital ID platform supports verification of national mobile identification cards, including mobile driver’s licenses and veterans registration certificates. This aligns with South Korea’s broader digital identity modernization strategy, which has seen the successful implementation of mobile ID trials across nine regions.
The system is also prepared to handle mobile resident registration cards, scheduled for nationwide issuance beginning February 2025. This initiative represents the latest phase in South Korea’s comprehensive digital transformation, following the successful rollout of digital residence cards for foreign residents and other mobile identification solutions.
RaonSecure’s involvement with the National Tax Service’s Home Tax authentication system dates back to 2020, when it established integrated simple authentication mediation through the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s expanded simple authentication project. The company’s continued role in national digital identity infrastructure demonstrates South Korea’s commitment to developing secure, user-friendly authentication solutions for government services.
