Newly-formed identity verification solution provider Q5id has announced the launch of its new multi-factor Proven Identity Management (PIM) biometric identification technology.
Q5id uses a combination of biometric and live real-time authentication to prove an individual’s identity for secure digital transactions. With identity fraud being a major concern for both consumers and businesses, Q5id hopes to provide protection to both by proving that an individual’s digital and real-world identities are one and the same.
The real-time authentication employed by Q5id comes in the form of a live video interview conducted to prove liveness, in addition to the biometric authentication methods.
In addition to marketing itself toward the financial service, telecom and consumer sectors, Q5id is also looking to serve in providing identity authentication to the education sector, following last year’s high-profile college admissions bribery and exam proctoring scandal.
The Oregon-based company was founded in 2019 by Steve Larson, former founder of SureID Inc., a provider of identity management and access control technologies.
