Princeton Identity has announced its first standalone product as an independent company. Called the IOM Access200, it’s a face and iris scanning unit aimed at access control applications. The company plans to showcase the IOM Access200 at this week’s ISC West security expo in Las Vegas, where it will be demonstrating the solution in booth #7079.
The device is designed to be mounted on a wall, and incorporates a PIN pad and card reader to complement its biometric capabilities. Princeton Identity says the device also features a built-in liveness detection capability, and it is FCC certified and CE and UL approved.
“When it comes to access control, you no longer need to sacrifice security for convenience, and the new IOM Access200 proves that by offering accurate and secure identity management powered by biometrics,” said Mark Clifton, CEO of Princeton Identity.
In a statement announcing the IOM Access200, Princeton Identity highlighted its potential applications in areas ranging from airports to college campuses to correctional facilities, and Princeton Identity CTO Kevin Richards emphasized its “power and simplicity for end users and solution providers”, adding that it’s “an optimal solution for all facilities.”
It’s a good time for Princeton Identity to launch its first product since spinning off from former parent company SRI International, given the firm’s heightened profile from having its iris scanning technology integrated into Samsung’s latest flagship smartphones.
