Find Biometrics is in Barcelona this week for Mobile World Congress 2018, reporting live from the exhibition floor. As tradition would dictate, Samsung held its UnPacked launch event for the new Galaxy S9 smartphone the evening before the conference started in earnest, and the multimodal biometric device is all over MWC 2018.
Peter O’Neill, President of FindBiometrics, caught up with Mark Clifton, President and CEO of Princeton Identity, the company responsible for the Galaxy S9’s iris recognition. The conversation begins with talk of Samsung UnPacked and the Galaxy S9’s Intelligent Scan multimodal biometrics feature. Clifton goes on to talk about Princeton’s biometric eGate deployment at Dubai International Airport, and the interest his company is seeing in the access control and secure borders markets globally. The interview concludes with an intriguing preview of some very large deployments we can expect to see from Princeton in the coming year.
