Precise Biometrics Wins SEK 15 Million in Fingerprint Sensor Orders for Access Devices

Precise Biometrics has received two customer orders worth a total of approximately SEK 15 million to supply fingerprint sensor technology for digital access devices. The Swedish company expects the orders to generate revenue during 2027.

The customers are global providers of digital security and authentication products based in the United States and Europe. They will integrate its fingerprint sensors into devices used for passwordless, phishing-resistant sign-in, which let users authenticate without typing a password and are designed to resist credential theft through fake login pages.

Precise said the orders strengthen its position in digital and logical access, the market for controlling access to computers, networks and online services. The company added that there are opportunities for further business as the customers expand their product portfolios.

“These orders demonstrate the value of our biometric technology in helping customers strengthen security while making authentication convenient,” said Joakim Nydemark, chief executive of Precise Biometrics. “Our fingerprint technology helps protect devices and data by verifying that the person requesting access is an authorized user.”

The company published the orders as a regulatory press release under the EU Market Abuse Regulation, which requires listed companies to disclose information that could affect their share price.

Fingerprint sensors became part of the Precise portfolio through its statutory merger with Fingerprint Cards, which was completed in July. The transaction transferred Fingerprint Cards’ assets and liabilities to Precise and combined its sensor and biometric technology business with Precise’s software, identity management and physical access control products.

Since the merger, Precise has added a chief revenue officer and a chief product officer to its executive team. Chief revenue officer Fredrik Krantz was previously chief operating officer at authentication company Futurae and earlier a senior vice president of sales at Yubico, while chief product officer Fredrik Ramberg held the same role at Fingerprint Cards.

Precise describes its technology as used in mobile phones, consumer electronics, physical and logical enterprise access, visitor management and government identity programs. It says its technology powers hundreds of millions of devices and authentications every day. The company is headquartered in Lund, Sweden, has local teams across Europe, North America and Asia, and is listed on Nasdaq Stockholm.
