Precise Biometrics will get a new Chief Financial Officer later this year.
The company has announced that its current CFO, Ulrik Nilsson, will step down in order to pursue “new challenges outside the company,” according to a statement. But Nilsson is expected to remain in his role until sometime in the third quarter of 2021.
Nilsson has been with the company for over two years, first joining in September of 2018 to replace previous CFO Göran Thuresson. Shortly after his appointment, Nilsson joined CEO Stefan K. Persson in taking a personal stake in the company, purchasing 200,000 shares in November of 2018.
“I would like to thank Ulrik for his hard work and contributions during his time at Precise,” said Persson. “He has been instrumental in building a robust finance function in connection with the re-structuring of the company and I wish him the best of luck in the future.”
The announcement of Nilsson’s departure comes at a time of transition for Precise Biometrics. The company, which established a high profile in the biometrics industry as a provider of biometric software for mobile fingerprint sensors, took a financial hit from the COVID-19 pandemic, like so many others; but in its most recent corporate update, Persson emphasized both the stability of Precise’s Mobile business line and the progress the company has made in a new area – biometric access control.
In the wake of Nilsson’s announcement, Precise has indicated that it will immediately begin the recruitment process for its next Chief Financial Officer.
