Today Precise Biometrics announced that its Precise BioMatch Mobile solution has made its way onto yet another Chinese smartphone. The integration is made possible through cooperation with Fingerprint Cards AB, whose sensor has been built into the handset. In a press release announcing the integration, Precise Biometrics asserts that the achievement will lead to license revenue to be generated starting in Q3 2015, though since the final numbers are dependent on the quantity of sensors delivered by FPC, the estimates can’t be forecasted at this point.
All throughout 2015 Precise has been finding its technology on smartphones, most recently announcing that its algorithm will be featured on two prominent mobile devices: the Huawei Honor 7 and the Meizu MX5. Both of those devices also feature FPC sensors, and therefore the Precise Biometrics software has been integrated as well.
The licensing agreement that is allowing for all of the companies’s mutual success in the Asian region was struck back in August 2013 and has proven to be a boon to both FPC and Precise.
Håkan Persson, CEO of Precise Biometrics, commented on this latest integration: “We are pleased to welcome yet another user of Precise BioMatch Mobile. Biometric performance and user experience is dependent on high performance algorithm software. We are confident that they with Precise BioMatch Mobile have found an excellent solution for their new smartphone model”
