Precise Biometrics has launched BioMatch Vizo, a new fingerprint matching engine built on an updated neural network architecture. The company describes the product as its fifth-generation matching algorithm and claims double-digit improvements in accuracy and processing speed compared with earlier versions.
BioMatch Vizo has been designed to operate across a wide range of fingerprint sensors, including ultrasonic, optical, and capacitive technologies, with particular attention to smaller sensor formats and challenging capture conditions. The company has also positioned the new engine as a complement to BioLive, its liveness detection and anti-spoofing technology introduced in 2024.
According to Precise, the tighter coupling between matching and liveness detection is intended to improve resistance to increasingly sophisticated presentation attacks. By allowing liveness signals to more directly inform matching decisions, the architecture aims to strengthen security at the hardware and firmware level rather than relying solely on higher-level software checks.
The target market for BioMatch Vizo includes mobile device manufacturers, automotive platforms, and physical access control providers. Initial customer deliveries are expected in late 2025, with broader commercial availability planned for early 2026.
