“Precise Biometrics says its new agreement with Egis will see further royalties based on further integrations into mobile devices, along with licensing, support, and maintenance fees.”
Precise Biometrics has reinforced its relationship with one of its most important partners, announcing that it has signed an extended licensing agreement with Egis Technology.
It was in late spring of last year that Precise Biometrics first teamed up with the Taiwan-based fingerprint sensor maker, in a partnership that would see Precise Biometrics’ fingerprint algorithm software used in Egis sensors. The partnership would soon pay off, with such sensors being incorporated into multiple smartphones in 2019.
In its recently issued Annual Report for 2019, Precise Biometrics highlighted its partnership with Egis, as well as a similar partnership with Qualcomm, for having accounted for the “biggest proportion” of Precise Biometrics’ overall growth.
Now, Precise Biometrics says its new agreement with Egis will see further royalties based on further integrations into mobile devices, along with licensing, support, and maintenance fees. The partnership is expected to deliver revenues of SEK 60 million in 2020.
“We are pleased to extend our collaboration with Egis, which we see as a strong acknowledgement for our leading fingerprint software as well as our ability to business develop and support our customers,” commented Precise Biometrics CEO Stefan K. Persson. “This agreement will be important to be able to scale up our products in the digital identity space for convenient and secure identification in other areas of applications.”
