Biometric authentication technology company Precise Biometrics has announced a partnership that will see its YOUNIQ facial recognition access control solution integrated with Telcred’s Access Manager, a cloud-based access control system.
Using Telcred’s API for integration, YOUNIQ is now compatible with IP-connected door controllers from Swedish physical security and surveillance company Axis Communications.
“Face recognition as a credential technology combines high security with unrivalled convenience,” said Telcred CEO Carlo Pompili. “The integration effort with Precise YOUNiQ was trivial which illustrates the strength and possibilities of truly open platforms. We see many potential applications for this technology, and we think it will become increasingly adopted in access control systems over the next few years.”
Precise has enjoyed a strong year thus far, as the COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the global shift to biometrics-based security solutions. The pandemic has led to an increase in remote work, which in turn has led to a rise in demand for mobile and remote authentication solutions.
Touchless biometric access control systems like the ones this newest partnership will facilitate are also growing in popularity as both private companies and governments look to secure facilities against the spread of the virus.
“The integration of our identification software for seamless access to facilities with Telcred’s open platform for access control reflects our strategy to partner with modern and innovative platform providers,” commented Precise CEO Stefan K. Persson. “We are looking forward to continuing working with Telcred, Axis and Zynka as we proceed on our growth journey within the Digital Identity area.“
As part of the partnership announcement, the companies also noted that building information management provider Zynka Group AB will be the first customer, deploying the collaborative access control platform at its headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden.
