Precise Biometrics technology is enjoying two new integrations with a high-profile smartphone maker, the company has announced. Both devices have embedded the company’s Precise BioMatch Mobile software.
In a press release, Precise Biometrics declines to name the “leading Chinese vendor,” but a statement issued today from partner hardware supplier Fingerprint Cards (FPC) indicates that the company in question is Lenovo, which has integrated the fingerprint sensor technology in its new [Lemon] X3 and [Lemon] X3 Youth smartphones. Precise Biometrics says the integration will start generating licensing revenue for the fourth quarter of the year.
Commenting on the integration, Precise Biometrics CEO Håkan Persson expressed pleasure on behalf of his company at another major integration. “High performance fingerprint software is crucial to ensure a good user experience and secure identity verification,” he said.
It’s another boost from Precise Biometrics’ smartphone sensor line of business, which has so far benefitted from a larger boom in the smartphone biometrics market, not to mention its partnership with FPC, a leading sensor hardware supplier.
