Precise Biometrics’ YOUNiQ access control solution will be used to secure an Algeco regional office in Germany. Algeco is an existing Precise customer, and has previously deployed YOUNiQ to secure some of its facilities in other countries. However, the regional office will be the first facility with YOUNiQ security in Germany, making it a major milestone for Precise as it looks to raise its profile internationally.
YOUNiQ itself is a face-based access control offering. The platform can be integrated into a physical security system to allow registered users to unlock doors and gain entry to a building with a contactless facial recognition scan. Precise has previously noted that the demand for the solution has increased during the COVID-19 pandemic, which has allowed the company to withstand the disruption of its mobile business during that same period.
“Through YOUNiQ, we have been able to provide Algeco with safe and sustainable services for facility access in multiple countries, and the extended trust is a proof of the strength in our offer within Digital Identity,” said Precise CEO Stefan Persson. “We look forward to include YOUNiQ in more of Algeco’s projects and installations, enabling a convenient and secure alternative for facility access.”
Clarkson University’s North Country Incubator and the Science Village in Lund are some of the other facilities that have installed YOUNiQ in 2021. Like the Algeco German site, the Clarkson University Incubator is noteworthy because it is the first site to deploy the solution in its home country, in that case the United States. Precise has also formed a distribution partnership with Elektroskandia to help drive sales for the YOUNiQ platform moving forward.
