PingOne Cloud Gets Behavioral Biometric Capabilities

Ping Identity has officially added behavioral biometrics to its PingOne Cloud Platform. The company first announced that it would be doing so back in June, following its acquisition of the anti-fraud and behavioral biometric specialist SecuredTouch.

SecuredTouch has now been rebranded as PingOne Fraud, which is being released as a new security feature for the broader PingOne Platform. Like other behavioral biometrics solutions, PingOne Fraud will analyze each user session to watch for any activity that does not fit the expected pattern. In doing so, it alerts administrators to the presence of potential fraudsters, and gives organizations a chance to stop cybercriminals before they take over an account.

PingOne Fraud also helps deliver a better user experience, since it eliminates the need for CAPTCHA checks and other anti-fraud measures that add friction to the authentication process. The solution is able to take device and network signals into account, and does not need to use any personal identifiable information to build a behavioral profile. As a result, PingOne Fraud is able to enhance security while still preserving the privacy of legitimate customers.

Behavioral biometrics is being rolled out alongside a new PingOne API Intelligence cloud service that provides administrators with more insight into the traffic coming through their gateways and data centers. The solution centralizes various fraud monitoring and reporting operations, and can issue an alert (or block certain activity) if traffic volumes are higher than expected.

Ping brought selfie onboarding to the PingOne platform with the launch of PingOne Verify at the beginning of the year. The company has since acquired Singular Key and is now offering the latter’s no-code security API through the PingOne Cloud.
