Pindrop and BT Forge Strategic Partnership to Combat AI-Driven Voice Fraud in UK Call Centers

Pindrop has announced a strategic partnership with BT, one of the world’s leading communications providers. The collaboration will see Pindrop’s advanced anti-fraud and authentication solutions embedded directly into BT’s enterprise contact center portfolio, making them immediately available to BT’s vast customer base across the United Kingdom.

The partnership is a direct response to the escalating threat of sophisticated, AI-driven fraud. According to Pindrop, contact center fraud has surged by over 100 percent since 2021, with 1 in every 599 calls now identified as fraudulent. The rise of synthetic voice and deepfake technology is a primary driver. Pindrop’s data shows that 1 in every 106 calls now exhibits signs of non-live or deepfake activity, a seven-fold increase in the past year alone.

To combat this, BT will integrate two of Pindrop’s flagship products. The first, Pindrop Protect, provides real-time fraud analysis. It uses multi-factor risk scoring by analyzing a call’s raw audio, device characteristics, and network data to identify anomalous behavior and detect threats like synthetic voice generation. The second, Pindrop Passport, is a passive voice biometric solution. It allows legitimate customers to be authenticated simply by speaking, creating a frictionless experience that eliminates the need for security questions or one-time passcodes.

This two-pronged approach aims to simultaneously enhance security and improve operational efficiency. By passively authenticating genuine customers, enterprises can reduce average call handling times. By flagging high-risk calls in real time, they can prevent fraud losses and stop attackers who use session hijacking or AI voice to impersonate customers.

“With 1 in 106 calls already showing signs of deepfake activity, threats like synthetic speech and agentic AI are rewriting the fraud playbook,” said Bucky Wallace, Chief Revenue Officer at Pindrop. “Together with BT, we’re giving UK enterprises a modern defence, advanced voice intelligence that continuously adapts, spots risk earlier, and future-proofs contact centres.”

Given BT’s deep integration within the UK’s financial services, public sector, and other regulated industries, this partnership provides a high-speed path for deploying next-generation voice security to the organizations that need it most. As deepfake-based fraud continues to accelerate, the combination of real-time fraud detection and passive biometric authentication offers enterprises a critical layer of defense against increasingly sophisticated attacks.
