Pennsylvania Convention Center Uses Daon’s VeriFLY App to Monitor Employee Health

Daon is taking VeriFLY beyond the air travel industry. The company has revealed that the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia will be using the app to track the health of its employees and contractors, and is hoping that the health passport will make the venue safer when it is eventually able to reopen.  

To that end, employees will use the app to fill out a questionnaire and submit certain health information. The app will then send grant clearance to the employee based on those answers. Those that are deemed healthy will receive a QR code that they can present at various points of entry. Those who are not will not be given access to the building.

The Pennsylvania deployment is slightly less robust than Daon’s VeriFLY deployments in the travel industry. American Airlines now offers VeriFLY service on all incoming flights to the US, and allows passengers to use the app to upload travel documents and official COVID-19 test results to expedite the screening process at the airport.

The Pennsylvania Convention Center is run by ASM Global, which has developed Reactivation Operating Framework through its Venue Shield program. That Framework has been granted GBAC STAR accreditation, and includes stricter disinfection, cleaning, and training protocols in addition to the VeriFLY questionnaire.

“In almost any workspace, mobile device-based identity and health credentials can enable businesses to re-establish customer trust and safely welcome back their employees,” said Daon CEO Tom Grissen. “This is particularly true in the hospitality and tourism industry.”

“VeriFLY provides another significant layer in our already robust COVID-prevention capital improvements and Reactivation Operating Framework,” added Pennsylvania Convention Center Authority President and CEO John McNichol.

Daon recently announced that British Airways will be offering VeriFLY to passengers flying to the US. American Airlines initially piloted the app on flights to Jamaica before expanding coverage to Chile and other parts of Latin America.
