Peerless-AV will soon be releasing audio-visual devices with VisionCaptor and DataCaptor software from VSBLTY. The two companies have now signed an OEM agreement that will allow Peerless to integrate the two solutions into its own digital signage kiosks.
The joint solution is intended to provide Peerless customers with more insight about their clientele. VisionCaptor is a computer vision solution that can capture demographic information like age and gender, as well as engagement metrics like emotion and unique views. DataCaptor then processes that information to turn it into more actionable intelligence.
“DataCaptor gathers key analytics including dwell time, total views, unique visitors, percent looking at the screen, content interaction, as well as footfall traffic and heat maps detailing highest traffic times by day and hour,” boasted VSBLTY Co-founder and CEO Jay Hutton.
The digital signage kiosks will be marketed to public-facing establishments like casinos, sports venues, and retail outlets. They will also support facial and object recognition, which will give them additional utility in the realm of access control. Facial recognition can be used to spot people on a watch list, or to administer loyalty programs in a casino or some other venue.
VSBLTY has previously provided face and temperature screening technology for the Entry Series from KIOSK Information Systems. That partnership primarily concerned public safety rather than data analytics. However, VSBLTY’s smart retail tech has been deployed in Mexican pet stores, South African convenience stores, and at La Aurora International Airport in Guatemala.
