Paychex, the developer of human capital management (HCM) platform Paychex Flex, has announced two new modules for the system. Called Paychex Flex Time and Paychex Flex Benefits Administration, they extend the platform’s capabilities in the areas of clock-in and -out time and attendance tracking, and employee benefits management, respectively.
Paychex Flex is a modular, comprehensive platform that allows a range of employee management functions using a single stream of worker data. While both new modules extend the platform’s functionality, Paychex Flex Time offers some unique technological sophistication with respect to time and attendance tracking, allowing employers to configure it for online and mobile punching – even making use of geo-fencing options for the latter – and enabling compatibility with biometric time clocks.
That last capability could prove particularly appealing to clients as biometric time and attendance tracking systems continue to surge in popularity. In some cases, their value proposition revolves around the elimination of employee timesheet fraud; while other deployments have seen advantages in how such technology can streamline the administration of a large and complex workforce arrangement. At the very least, biometric time and attendance tracking helps to eliminate paperwork and drive down administrative costs, and in this sense Paychex Flex Time could prove to be a uniquely appealing enhancement to the Paychex Flex platform.
