“PayByFace is the developer of a biometric payments app that allows people to make purchases with a selfie.”
The Dutch payment processing specialist PayByFace has added Sreejit Ankarath to its Advisory Board. Ankarath currently works with Tech Mahindra, where he is in charge of Consulting, Transformation and Global Alliances.
PayByFace is the developer of a biometric payments app that allows people to make purchases with a selfie. The company is eying a global expansion, and is hoping that Ankarath will be able to advance its goals. Ankarath has previously established business operations in 10 different countries (and in nearly every region) around the world.
“I am excited to be associated with PayByFace and to see their evolution from an ideation to successful launch across several markets is simply unbelievable,” said Ankarath. “Customers across the globe will demand more on how they will use their personal identity to ensure transactions and PayByFace will stand to gain from this spectrum of opportunities.”
“Sreejit was instrumental in the idea behind PayByFace and has been a great inspiration in continuing our journey,” added PayByFace Founder and CEO Mihai Draghici. “He is a great complement to our team of experienced investors and advisors.”
Of course, PayByFace is not the only company with an eye on the face-based payments space. Shinhan Card recently launched a Face Pay payments scheme in South Korea, while Ontario’s SnapPay is working to bring a similar facial recognition system to North America.
