“With the certification, PatientWorks kiosks will now be able to identify patients via palm vein scan, creating a 1:1 link with patient records.”
Imprivata’s biometric patient identification platform has been integrated into the patient self-service offerings of PatientWorks Corporation. The latter’s KioskWorks and CheckinWorks platforms are now Imprivata Ready!-certified, meaning they can support Imprivata PatientSecure for biometric patient check-in.
With the certification, PatientWorks kiosks will now be able to identify patients via palm vein scan, creating a 1:1 link with patient records. The aim is to leverage these technologies for improved efficiency in healthcare settings. As Imprivata PatientSecure Products Group GM Clay Ritchey explains, “Without the right tools in place to guarantee positive identification, healthcare will always be challenged to reap the full clinical and financial benefits of digital health technologies such as EHRs and self-service kiosks.” That’s where PatientWorks’ and Imprivata’s digital patient identification technologies come into play.
PatientWorks’ support could prove beneficial for Imprivata in marketing the company’s biometric technologies, which Imprivata showcased at this year’s HIMSS conference. For its part, PatientWorks certainly appears enthusiastic, with CEO Larry Haworth asserting in a statement that “[t]he use of biometric identification at registration kiosks is a great addition to our solutions and helps transform the entire registration and intake process.”
