Parsons is promoting its contactless DetectWise system as a beneficial public health tool for venues that are looking for ways to safely reopen in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. DetectWise is a mobile health screening kiosk that can measure someone’s body temperature, heart rate, and respiration to identify those who may be infected with the disease.
The DetectWise offering also includes modular testing and decontamination facilities, which will allow venue operators to separate those with symptoms of COVID-19 from the rest of the public. Those without symptoms will then be able to move more freely in shopping malls, theatres, and other large gathering spaces. The system itself utilizes testing methods that have been approved by the CDC.
“The world of tomorrow looks far different than it did several weeks ago,” said Parsons President and COO Carey Smith. “DetectWise uses sensors and cameras to help our customers better understand if an individual is symptomatic for the COVID-19 virus, allowing them to take steps necessary to minimize the risk of spreading the disease.”
Parsons is not the only company pushing biometric screening technology during the pandemic. Telpo recently unveiled a similar temperature detection terminal, while everis has integrated thermal imaging into its existing facial recognition kiosks.
