Oxygen Forensics has released the latest iteration of its flagship mobile forensics suite. Oxygen Forensics Detective 12.0 features a redesigned interface and significant back-end enhancements that will drastically increase the speed and processing power of the platform.
“We provide our customers with the tools, resources, and support they need to extract data from hundreds of devices and thousands of applications. Now they will be able to do things more than three times as fast as our previous edition,” said Oxygen Forensics COO Lee Reiber.
In addition to the speed improvements, Oxygen Forensics has expanded the utility of the Detective suite to pull data from dozens of new devices and cloud platforms, including LinkedIn, JioCloud, Viber Cloud, and KaiOS. Law enforcement officers can use Oxygen Forensics Detective to extract password tokens, contacts, geolocation data, calendars, phone logs, and other information that could be relevant to an ongoing investigation.
The company has also upgraded the platform’s video and image processing capabilities, which include facial recognition and clustering software to aid with data analysis. It will also allow users to view files from more than one device at the same time.
Oxygen Forensics Detective 12.0 should give law enforcement agencies a powerful tool that will help them keep up with rapidly evolving digital technologies, which has been an issue for many organizations around the world.
While Oxygen specializes in mobile forensics, several companies have been developing new technologies to facilitate the gathering of more traditional crime scene data. Innovatrics recently upgraded its forensics portfolio with the release of ABIS 7, while a team of university researchers in the UK developed a technology that makes it easier to pull fingerprints from metal surfaces.
