Nuance Communications has bested the competition in Opus Research’s latest Intelligent Authentication and Fraud Prevention Report. The company was previously identified as a Leader in the Intelligent Authentication and Fraud Prevention Report in September of 2020, and listed as the top-rated vendor in Opus’ Enterprise Intelligent Assistants (EIA) Decision Makers’ Guide for the third consecutive year in November of 2019.
Nuance has essentially repeated those feats in 2022, climbing to the top of the Fraud Prevention leaderboard while getting listed as the market Leader in the space. Opus looked at 21 vendors in its latest report, and specifically commended Nuance for its cloud-based Nuance Gatekeeper biometric authentication platform.
In that regard, Opus highlighted Gatekeeper’s flexibility as a key factor in its decision. The platform uses voice recognition to authenticate users in digital channels, and in more traditional Contact Center use cases. According to Nuance, Gatekeeper can confirm someone’s identity with 99 percent accuracy based on only half a second of audio, and can do so even when a person’s voice is being affected by a mask, an illness, or background noise.
The Opus evaluation was carried out in collaboration with SymNex Consulting. Nuance was the highest-ranked company in the platform provider category, with its user-friendly customization options helping to distinguish the company from the rest of the field.
“This year’s Intelliview found a market that is rapidly evolving with biometrics becoming a foundational piece of the authentication and fraud prevention strategy for organizations worldwide,” said Opus Lead Analyst Dan Miller. “Nuance has proven its dominance having the largest number of implementations and annual authentications while also continuing to innovate with new features and R&D investments.”
“We are honored to once again be named a Leader in the latest report,” added Nuance VP and GM Brett Beranek. “I am proud of the Nuance team for continuing to innovate as we help organizations protect their customer journey.”
Multiple financial institutions are now using Gatekeeper to safeguard their voice channels. The solution was also listed on the Five9 App Marketplace back in May.
