Research firm Opus Research has announced a new, uniquely comprehensive report on the voice biometrics market. The firm will discuss some of the findings of the report, entitled “Voice Biometrics Census: Global Tally of Voice Security and Authentication Implementations,” at the upcoming VBC London 2014: The Voice Security and Authentication Conference.
Opus Research is billing the study as a first, given that its collection of data is the product of ten years of research on voice biometrics vendors and customers around the world. While the firm is currently keeping somewhat tight-lipped about the specifics, it has indicated that the findings are quite positive. In a press release, Opus Research founder Dan Miller says, “Success to date speaks volumes about the ability of voice-based security to support secure, trusted commercial conversations at scale.”
While such in-depth studies are undoubtedly useful, the overall trend of success in this field should come as no surprise. Reports from other research firms have clearly indicated the growing popularity of biometrics technology in general, while voice biometrics has proven particularly popular in financial services and for government purposes.
