In a presentation at ISC East in New York last week, Oosto’s Chief Technology Officer and Chief AI Scientist outlined a new vision for real-time contextual video analytics.
Until now, organizations have been limited in their ability to obtain a complete understanding of a particular scene from video surveillance, due to AI technology that is single-threaded and purpose-built to perform a specific function, such as facial recognition or object detection.
“Video analytics is still in its infancy. Today’s video analytics provide limited insights which can translate to poor and missed alarms,” said Dieter Joecker, Oosto’s CTO. ““Tomorrow, commercial enterprises will harness the power of contextual scene analysis – multithreaded AI – to deliver real-time contextual analytics and precision alerts based on a more holistic understanding of live video surveillance”
ISC East, hosted in collaboration with premier sponsor Security Industry Association (SIA), is the Northeast’s leading security and public safety event. FindBiometrics’ own Director of Digital Media and Events, Doug OGorden, hosted a pair of panels at this year’s show.
The first — Identity Crash Course: Top Five Biometric Security Trends — featured panelists Andy Farmer, IDEMIA’s Vice President of Corporate Identity, Americas; Jay Meier, SVP of North American Operations, FaceTec, Inc.; and Tim Meyerhoff, Director of North America, IrisID.
The second panel —Making the Biometric Upgrade: Enhancing Physical and Digital Security with Biometrics — saw OGorden joined by Manish Dalal, President and Founder, ZKTeco USA; David Ray, COO & General Counsel, Rank One Computing; and Rita Mounir, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Allthenticate.
