Delfin Health will be using Onfido’s biometric technology to streamline the onboarding process for its Klarity health data management platform. Developed in collaboration with Doc HQ, Klarity is intended to facilitate the safe return to work and support safe travel during the COVID-19 pandemic.
With Klarity, employers will be able to monitor the health of their employees on a daily basis. The app essentially acts as a digital wallet that stores a user’s vaccination record and other important medical information, and allows them to share that status in a discreet fashion.
The app will also make an Indicative Health Risk Assessment during the registration process. The Assessment is based on the user’s responses to a series of questions, and is made with a proprietary AI scoring system that draws on extensive clinical data, vaccination records, and COVID-19 test results. Once generated, users can access their score with facial recognition to share it with employers, medical professionals, or immigration officials while traveling abroad.
Onfido, meanwhile, will secure the enrollment process and enable the use of facial recognition for future authentication. Before they complete the Risk Assessment, new users will first need to take a video selfie and a picture of their ID. Onfido’s face and document recognition tech will then compare the two to make sure the same person is depicted in the selfie and the photo ID.
“By putting the public in control of their own health data and ensuring that only they can access and share this data, we can build trust in back-to-work and back-to-travel solutions,” said Onfido Co-Founder and CEO Husayn Kassai.
“As employers begin offering cash incentives to get their staff back in the office, it’s more important than ever to ensure employees can return in a safe and secure way,” added Delfin CEO Will Cooper. “Our partnership with Onfido allows us to do this by securely binding a person’s digital identity with their health status.”
In the case of travel, Klarity will serve as an immunity credential. Passengers will be tested when they arrive at the airport, and again five to eight days later to make sure they are COVID-free. Klarity will protect passenger privacy when they share those test results.
Onfido has previously provided immunity credentials for the Sidehide hotel booking app, and has been working with the UK government to explore the possibility of an immunity passport.
