American travelers are excited about the potential impact of biometric and AI technologies on the air travel experience, suggest the results of a recent OAG survey.
The air travel data provider surveyed over 2,000 travelers for its latest Travel Tech Innovation: Market Report. It found that over 75 percent of those surveyed were willing to use biometric authentication if it meant that they could quickly and easily get through customs, check-in, and security screening. That’s good news for an air travel industry increasingly looking to biometric solutions to manage growing passenger traffic, and for government agencies like US Customs and Border Protection as they seek to implement biometric screening for security purposes.
OAG’s report also found that 73 percent of all travelers, and 89 percent of Millennials, anticipate that artificial intelligence technologies will help them find better pricing when booking flights. And along that same theme of technological innovation, 68 percent of respondents indicated that they would be willing to pay more for flights on supersonic jets, with 48 percent saying they would pay up to 25 percent more for supersonic tickets.
The full, detailed results are available from OAG’s report, “Evaluating Travelers’ Appetite for Adoption”, available through its website.
