NuData Security has been named a winner in the 2018 FinTech Breakthrough Awards, taking a trophy in the category of “Best Fraud Prevention Category”.
Launched in 2016, FinTech Breakthrough celebrates innovation in (as the name suggests) financial services technology. The organization says its panels of judges comprise experienced professionals from the FinTech space, including tech executives, journalists, and industry analysts, and that its 2018 round of awards assessed over 3,000 nominations from around the world.
In assessing NuData’s technology, FinTech Breakthrough’s judges appear to have been impressed in much the same way as the leadership of Mastercard when the latter decided to acquire the company last year. A pioneer in behavioral biometrics, NuData assesses a range of behavioral patterns in end users’ online activity to flag potential fraud threats, even before any such crimes have been attempted.
Commenting on the recognition in a statement, FinTech Breakthrough Managing Director James Johnson pointed to “the exponential increase in potential fraud” faced by the FinTech industry, asserting, “We are thrilled to recognize NuData Security for their leadership position in the category of fraud prevention and congratulate them for their significant technology innovation to help mitigate these increasing risks of fraud faced by the industry today.”
The plaudit comes after Javelin Strategy & Research gave NuData its “Leader in Innovation in Identity Proofing Platform Award” last year, further burnishing NuData’s credibility as an anti-fraud solutions provider.
