NuData has been recognized as one of Gartner’s Cool Vendors in Cloud Security Services, the company has announced. The Gartner report is pretty much what it sounds like – a compendium of profiles on innovative vendors specializing in key tech sectors.
Gartner has found that cloud storage and services are increasingly subject to attacks from hackers, DDoS (distributed denial of service) attacks, fraud, and other security threats. And the technology research firm suggests a number of defensive maneuvers that organizations can take, including using behavioral biometrics and machine learning systems to analyze threats; shifting to a security strategy that focuses on threat detection and response, rather than simple prevention; and using cloud platforms that are compatible with such advanced security systems.
NuData’s system is, of course, very much in line with those strategies. By analyzing users’ behavioral patterns in online activity, the company’s NuDetect platform is able to spot potential fraudsters early – up to 15 days ahead of an attack, the company says. That gives organizations time to analyze and better understand the threats they are facing, and to respond accordingly.
The Gartner distinction isn’t the first plaudit that NuDetect has received; in April, it was a Gold Winner in the 2015 Global Excellent Awards, for the Security Products and Solutions for Online and E-commerce category. But it’s great to be a Cool Vendor, too; in a press release, NuData CEO Michel Giasson said “it is an honor to see our efforts have been further validated by a position in the Gartner Cool Vendor report.”
