Nuance has launched a new edition of one of its clinical use speech recognition platforms.
Aimed at smaller medical practices with 24 clinicians or fewer, Nuance’s Dragon Medical Practice Edition 4 is designed to speed up the process of patient documentation, and features machine learning technology that Nuance says will enable it to adapt to changing contextual conditions in a given practice. In a statement announcing the updated platform, Nuance Healthcare Provider Solutions head Michael Clark explained, “By applying machine learning to real-time document capture, we are helping address the challenges of smaller ambulatory clinics to transform the documentation process, and improve both the clinician experience and patient care.”
New features of the fourth edition of Dragon Medical Practice include compatibility with Windows 10 device touchscreens, enhanced voice command functionality, and a quick-access icon bar in the user interface.
The updated offering comes after Nuance reported “solid performance in net new bookings and recurring revenue driven by demand for its Dragon Medical cloud solution” in a fiscal update issued at the end of last November. That update came after Nuance launched its Dragon Medical Virtual Assistant the month before, with this latest release underlining the company’s strong focus on the medical sector.
