“The appointment further raises Novetta’s profile as an analytics company capable of assessing sophisticated technologies.”
A Novetta executive will help to lead the development of an ISO/IEC JTC1 standard concerning spoofing attacks against smartphone biometric authentication systems, the company has announced.
ISO/IEC JTC1 is a joint committee of the International Organization for Standardization and the International Electrotechnical Commission that focuses on the IT and ICT fields. Its ISO/IEC 30107 project is entitled “Anti-Spoofing and Liveness Detection Techniques”, and Novetta VP of Special Projects Michael Thieme has been appointed Editor of ISO/IEC 30107-4 – “Biometric presentation attack detection – Profile”.
The appointment further raises Novetta’s profile as an analytics company capable of assessing sophisticated technologies. The company recently weighed in on EyeLock iris recognition technology, deeming it “a significant technological breakthrough” for iris-based biometric authentication.
In a statement announcing Thieme’s ISO/IEC 30107 appointment, Novetta CEO Tiffany Gates said it “further solidifies Novetta’s role as a thought leader in emerging biometric and identity-related technologies.”
