“NEXT announced it had completed testing of the chip in March of this year. Now, the company has received “a high-volume order” for the chip.”
NEXT Biometrics has received a major order for its new A2 ASIC chip, the company has announced.
The chip is considered a cornerstone of the company’s business strategy, aimed at offering advantages to OEM integrators with its small size and low cost. NEXT announced it had completed testing of the chip in March of this year. Now, the company has received “a high-volume order” for the chip.
The company has not specified the volume of the order, nor the client concerned, but said in a statement that it “expects to begin shipping in volumes to key customers in the Notebook segment during the fourth quarter” of this year.
News of the order comes in the same week that NEXT announced that its production facilities are now ready for mass production of its flexible fingerprint sensors, suggesting that the company is on track to meet its major business goals for the year.
