NEXT Biometrics and WizCard Partner to Develop New Smart Card Tech

NEXT Biometrics is teaming up with Taiwan-based WizCard to develop biometric smart card technologies, the companies have announced.

The partnership will leverage each company’s respective strengths. NEXT Biometrics is, of course, a renowned fingerprint sensor specialist; while WizCard offers Build-In Module design services for smart card makers, distinguishing itself with display technologies for payment cards and other card solutions.

The latter can facilitate the use of One-Time Passwords and dynamic CVVs, which, together with NEXT’s fingerprint recognition technology, can deliver card solutions supporting a high level of security.

In announcing the partnership, executives from both companies praised their partner’s solutions. “NEXT Biometrics’ fingerprint technology offers excellent functionality and proven reliability,” said WizCard CEO Daphne Hsu; while NEXT Biometrics Chief Sales and Marketing Officer Alain Faburel asserted, “WizCard provides card manufacturers seamless integration of additional features into standard smart cards.”

Faburel added that the partnership “further widens our global network of business partners and scope of application for our advanced sensor technology in the smart card sector.”

The news comes after other recent card-focused partnerships with MK Group and M-Tech Innovations.
