“We are very pleased to collaborate with Prima Technology on this innovative use of our technology. As outlined at the January 2019 Business Update, we are in the process of expanding our presence in the access control market through broadening of our distributor network and increased sales efforts of our team.” – Ritu Favre, CEO, NEXT Biometrics
NEXT Biometrics technology may soon end up in a number of classrooms thanks to its latest partnership, with Prima Technology.
Based in Xiamen, China, Prima is a display maker, offering a number of solutions including TVs, outdoor displays, and digital signage. And forthcoming solutions will integrate NEXT’s One Touch Access 100 fingerprint sensor module, the Oslo-based biometrics specialist has announced.
As for what exactly those solutions will be, NEXT indicated in its announcement that they will be aimed at North America’s educational market, though the company did not offer further details about the products.
Commenting on the development, NEXT Biometrics CEO Ritu Favre framed it in terms of a larger strategic effort on the company’s part, asserting, “we are in the process of expanding our presence in the access control market through broadening of our distributor network and increased sales efforts of our team.” This initiative runs parallel to NEXT Biometrics’ ongoing efforts to target the emerging biometric payment cards, with the company having recently announced that it would begin sampling its dual interface card solution early in the second quarter of this year.
