NEXT Biometrics and MK Group are renewing the commitment they made back in November. The two companies first came together to form a joint R&D program to work on biometric smart cards, with NEXT Biometrics supplying large-area fingerprint sensors for future MK cards.
That collaboration has since uncovered other market opportunities, leading to a new agreement that expands the scope of the initial partnership. NEXT and MK Group will now be working together to develop and sell identity and access management and Public-Key-Infrastructure authentication solutions for the Brazilian, Vietnamese, and South African markets.
“We are pleased to expand our collaboration with MK Group and to leverage NEXT’s fingerprint sensor technology in an even broader range of secure authentication solutions and on a wider geographic space,” said NEXT’s Chief Sales and Marketing Officer Alain Faburel.
“Interest for biometric payment and secure authentication solutions is growing steadily and we look forward to seizing this opportunity together,” added MK Group Chairman and CEO Nguyen Trong Khang.
The two companies will continue their activities in the biometric smart card sphere alongside their efforts in IAM and PKI authentication. The MK partnership is an important component of NEXT’s plans as the company begins sampling its own biometric payment cards and moves towards revenue generation in 2019.
