“Yu’s appointment is the latest organizational change undertaken by NEXT Biometrics as part of an effort to scale up its operations. “
NEXT Biometrics now has an Asia Pacific Sales and China General Manager, with former Crossmatch executive William Yu taking on the newly created position.
Yu brings to the role his four years of experience as Crossmatch’s Director of Asia Sales, and previous sales experience with fingerprint sensor providers AuthenTec, DigitalPersona, and UPEK. In announcing the creation of his new role with NEXT Biometrics, the company highlighted China, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan as key areas of focus for Yu’s sales efforts.
Yu’s appointment is the latest organizational change undertaken by NEXT Biometrics as part of an effort to scale up its operations. At the start of April, the company promoted its EVP of Engineering, Dan Cronin, to the new position of Chief Operating Officer, and it brought on Ravi Jagannath as its new SVP of Operations. NEXT has reported building momentum in its access control, government ID, and notebook business lines, and is particularly focused on opportunities emerging in the area of biometric payment cards.
In a statement, NEXT Biometrics CEO Ritu Favre explained, “As we continue to create an organization that can scale to support additional revenue, William will play an important role in delivering positive results for us in the Asia Pacific region.”
