“NEXT Biometrics is emphasizing the kit’s applications in the development of access control and Internet of Things products…”
NEXT Biometrics will show off its new fingerprint sensor development kit from Arrow Electronics‘ booth at this week’s Embedded World 2018 expo, the company has announced.
Based on the Qualcomm DragonBoard 410c development board, the kit is aimed at offering developers a means of building their own fingerprint recognition solutions, complete with template extraction and matching. Early versions of the kit support both SPI and USB interfaces, with a final version to be launched in March.
NEXT Biometrics is emphasizing the kit’s applications in the development of access control and Internet of Things products, with the latter being the key to the company’s collaboration with Arrow Electronics. Arrow has placed a strong focus on the IoT with its own recent solutions, including a cloud platform based on Microsoft Azure, and has proven keen to work with other players in the IoT space.
The Embedded World conference kicked off today in Nuremberg, and is scheduled to run until March 1st, with Arrow and NEXT showcasing their solutions from booth 340 in hall 4A.
