“We are excited to work closely with Zwipe to tap into the huge potential we see for biometrics in the payments market.” – Kevin Yi, Vice President, Wisecard
Zwipe has found another new partner to help commercialize its biometric payment card technology.
The company has teamed up with Wisecard, a Shenzhen-based firm focused on smart card and payment system technologies, as well as security technologies pertaining to cards and electronic transactions. In a statement announcing the partnership, Zwipe emphasized Wisecard’s status as “a leading provider of EMV personalization services,” adding that the two companies will work together on the personalization offerings of the Zwipe Pay portfolio.
The aim is to ultimately offer ready personalization services to smart card manufacturers working with Zwipe’s biometric payment card technology.
“We are excited to partner with Wisecard as we continue to expand our ecosystem and our capacity to provide the most comprehensive and compelling offerings within biometric payments to smart card manufacturers and issuers, further cementing the value-add we bring to our customers,” commented Zwipe CEO André Løvestam.
The partnership’s announcement arrives soon after Zwipe’s news that it had teamed up with two new Italy-based partners positioned to help establish the supply chain infrastructure for its biometric payment card platform, further signalling Zwipe’s intensive efforts to build its network of critical partners.
For Wisecard’s part, VP Kevin Yi expressed excitement about the collaboration and the emergence of biometric payment cards in general. “We are excited to work closely with Zwipe to tap into the huge potential we see for biometrics in the payments market,” he said. “Zwipe has led the way in establishing a global network of partners to make the launch of biometric payment cards and wearables at scale as effortless and cost-effective as possible.”
