New SVP to Oversee Imprivata’s Biometric Patient ID Portfolio

Biometric patient identification specialist Imprivata has a new head of product: Mark McArdle has been named the company’s Senior Vice President of Products and Design.

In announcing McArdle’s appointment, Imprivata highlighted his previous experience at cybersecurity firms eSentire and McAfee. He was eSentire’s CTO from 2014 to 2018, and also headed its CyberSecurity Managed Detection and Response team. At McAfee, he was SVP of Consumer Product Development from 1997 to 2008.

McArdle also has experience in other areas. From November of 2010 to March of 2011, he was CEO of mobile app tool developer tinyHippos, which was acquired by Research in Motion; and from April of 2012 to November of 2012 he was CEO of digital media firm Rebellion Media.

At Imprivata, McArdle’s will oversee product development across the company’s portfolio, in line with Imprivata’s “digital identity framework for healthcare” program.

McArdle’s appointment comes about a month after Imprivata announced a partnership with Keyo to develop a contactless version of its PatientSecure palm vein identification solution.
