New Partnership to Bring FaceTec Biometrics to MENA Market

A new partnership is poised to significantly expand FaceTec‘s global presence. The facial recognition firm has teamed up with Gulf Data International (“gDi”), an IT solutions provider focused on the Middle East-North Africa region.

Founded in the United Arab Emirates in 1983, gDi now has offices across the Middle East, with a strong focus on providing IT services to the region’s business hubs in Abu Dhabi, Cairo, and Dubai. It’s a high-profile firm, with FaceTec CEO Kevin Alan Tussy calling gDi “a trusted and highly-regarded integration partner” for the region.

In announcing the partnership, the companies suggested that it will see FaceTec’s 3D face authentication technology deployed into “major digital identity programs” in the areas of financial services, healthcare, and remote work, as well as government ID programs.

“Their software enables all the important Identity related use cases in the region to come to life, as organizations will finally have the confidence needed in their biometric authentication provider to deploy widely,” explained gDi CEO Sherine Sadek.

The executives’ excitement is well-founded. FaceTec’s biometric authentication technology features liveness detection technology certified to Levels 1 and 2 of the ISO 30107 Presentation Attack Detection standard, placing it in the pantheon of anti-spoofing solutions. FaceTec also operates the biometrics industry’s only spoof bounty program – a five level incentive system which would provide up to $75,000 to any hacker able to thoroughly bypass its liveness detection.

The announcement of FaceTec’s partnership with gDi comes soon after the recent news that the company’s biometric technology would be used to secure a GoodDollar’s UBI digital wallet platform.
