Cabinet Louis Reynaud (CLR Labs) has launched CLR Cert, a new Conformity Assessment Body (CAB) program focused on evaluating compliance in biometrics, cybersecurity, digital identities, and remote identity verification. The program emerges as European Union member states implement the NIS2 Directive, which mandates stronger cybersecurity measures across critical sectors.
CLR Cert’s biometric evaluation services assess systems for presentation attack detection (PAD) and injection attack detection (IAD) capabilities according to standards including CEN TS 18099 and ISO/IEC 30107. These evaluations have gained importance as the EU AI Act introduces new requirements for biometric systems used in critical applications.
The program’s cybersecurity assessments address ICT product compliance under EN 17640 and alignment with the EU AI Act’s requirements. According to CLR Labs, the service helps organizations prepare for upcoming regulations including the NIS2 directive and Cyber Resilience Act, which establish new cybersecurity benchmarks for digital products and services.
In the realm of digital identity systems, CLR Cert conducts comprehensive evaluations for compliance with standards governing European digital identity wallets under eIDAS V2 requirements. This includes assessment of Qualified Trust Service Providers (QTSP), mobile passports (ICAO 9303), and European driving licenses (ISO/IEC 18013). The timing is particularly relevant as EU member states begin implementing digital ID wallet pilots ahead of the 2025 eIDAS V2 deadline.
Additionally, CLR Cert offers conformity assessment services for remote identity proofing systems, ensuring compliance with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and eIDAS standards. This service addresses the increasing regulatory emphasis on secure digital onboarding, as evidenced by recent certifications obtained by identity verification providers under ETSI TS 119 461.
“In an ever-changing digital world, compliance is more essential than ever,” said the firm’s Managing Director, Louis Reynaud. “CLR Cert meets companies’ growing needs for security and trust.”
