Neurotechnology continues to drive into the new year in a high gear, announcing the latest iteration of its MegaMatcher biometrics platform. Arriving just half a year after the announcement of MegaMatcher 10, MegaMatcher 11 brings speed and accuracy enhancements to its facial, fingerprint, iris, voice, and palmprint algorithms, the company says.
In a statement announcing the upgrades, Neurotechnology said that its facial recognition technology is now five times more accurate at the low False Acceptance Rate setting, and the error rate for voice recognition is nearly twice as strong. MegaMatcher’s iris biometrics algorithm, meanwhile, features a new “iris detection confidence feature” designed to verify the presence of an iris in a given image, the company explained in a statement; and it can now detect the presence of contact lenses that can distort an iris image.
MegaMatcher 11 also now brings its MegaMatcher ABIS solution to the cloud, and offers an enhanced workflow interface for the system that lets users filter the results of biometric matching by age, gender, nationality, and other factors.
The platform upgrade’s announcement comes immediately on the heels of Neurotechnology’s launch of a new facial recognition SDK, making for a strong start to the new year on the company’s part. Neurotechnology says MegaMatcher 11 is available as a free upgrade to existing customers, with a 30-day free trial offered to prospective ones.
