Neurotechnology Updates MegaMatcher Suite with ISO-Compliant Face Liveness and Privacy Workflows

Neurotechnology has released version 2025.2 of its MegaMatcher product family, introducing ISO-aligned face presentation attack detection and new privacy-focused workflows for biometric identification systems. The update covers MegaMatcher ABIS 2025.2, MegaMatcher Accelerator 2025.2, and MegaMatcher SDK 2025.2.

The headline addition is a face presentation attack detection (PAD) capability that Neurotechnology describes as ISO-compliant at Level 2, independently evaluated in accordance with ISO/IEC 30107-3 requirements. ISO/IEC 30107-3 is the international standard governing biometric liveness detection testing, and a Level 2 claim indicates the algorithm has been assessed against a defined threat model that includes cooperative and adversarial attack scenarios. For identity verification vendors and government procurers, independent ISO-aligned evaluation is increasingly a baseline requirement.

The 2025.2 release also introduces a new ABIS workflow that allows biometric identification to proceed without saving source images. Under this configuration, only extracted biometric attributes are stored, with corresponding implications for audit trails and data governance. The approach aligns with data minimization principles embedded in privacy regulations and is relevant for deployments in jurisdictions with strict rules around biometric data retention.

Additional technical updates include refined segmentation for iris and fingerprint recognition and native support for Microsoft Windows on 64-bit ARM platforms, expanding compatibility for edge and embedded deployments.

“Security, accuracy, and data governance are the cornerstones of our biometric solutions,” said Irmantas Naujikas, Director at Neurotechnology.

The 2025.2 release builds on a series of MegaMatcher improvements through the year, including earlier MegaMatcher ABIS enhancements from March 2025 that refreshed algorithms across modalities, as well as MegaMatcher SDK algorithm improvements that expanded capabilities for integrators. Neurotechnology also extended the platform’s investigative reach with forensic tool enhancements for MegaMatcher in April 2025 targeting law enforcement workflows.

Face liveness detection has become a central feature differentiator in the ABIS and identity verification markets, as regulators and procurement bodies increasingly specify PAD compliance as a contract requirement. The combination of ISO-aligned liveness and image-free identification in a single release suggests Neurotechnology is responding to both security and privacy pressures simultaneously – a pairing that reflects the dual compliance demands facing large-scale biometric deployments in government and enterprise contexts.
