Neurotechnology Updates MegaMatcher SDK with Enhanced Biometric Algorithms

Idemia Likely Winner of IRS Biometrics Contract After Compressed RFQ Process

Neurotechnology has announced significant updates to its MegaMatcher SDK and MegaMatcher Accelerator product lines, introducing enhanced biometric algorithms and new features across multiple modalities including fingerprint, face, iris, and palmprint recognition.

The updated fingerprint recognition algorithms, which have undergone testing in NIST MINEX III, ELFT, and PFT III evaluations, demonstrate improved accuracy over previous versions. This builds on the company’s strong performance in recent NIST ELFT testing, where their algorithms showed exceptional capabilities in latent fingerprint matching.

Face recognition capabilities have been enhanced with a new template size optimized for server applications, with performance validated through NIST FRVT evaluation. The iris recognition algorithm has been specifically designed to perform better with lower-quality iris scans, continuing the company’s tradition of excellence in iris recognition technology.

A notable addition to the platform is contactless fingerprint capture functionality, allowing smartphones to capture four fingerprints simultaneously without requiring a physical scanner. The update also introduces finger anomaly detection to identify errors and potential fraud attempts in four-finger scan images, as well as face morph detection capabilities to spot digitally altered facial images.

The release includes expanded standards compliance, supporting the latest ISO/IEC biometric standards for finger, face, and iris image data, enhancing interoperability across systems. This standardization is particularly relevant given Neurotechnology’s deployment in recent commercial applications and government projects.

“This MegaMatcher update is a major step forward in providing accurate and flexible biometric solutions to suit a variety of different client needs,” said Irmantas Naujikas, director at Neurotechnology. “The new algorithms, features, and supported standards are tailored to address the evolving challenges in biometric identification, offering industry-leading accuracy and reliability to our clients worldwide.”

Founded in 1990 in Vilnius, Lithuania, Neurotechnology has established itself as a leading provider of biometric and AI-related software solutions. The company’s technology is currently deployed in over 140 countries, supporting national ID programs, passports, elections, law enforcement, and border control applications. Notable implementations include India’s Aadhaar program, general elections in Ghana and Liberia, and voter deduplication in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, with their systems collectively processing biometric data for nearly two billion people.
