Lithuania-based biometric software developer Neurotechnology has announced a new and comprehensive platform for large-scale biometric projects. Called MegaMatcher Automated Biometric Identification System (or MegaMatcher ABIS), it’s a multimodal platform supporting face, fingerprint, and iris modalities.
The platform is based on the technology central to Neurotechnology’s MegaMatcher SDK and MegaMatcher Accelerator solutions, which the company says have been used in major deployments including border control and voter registration. That suggests a considerable level of technological sophistication: the company’s fingerprint technology has previously performed well in National Institute of Standards and Technology’s testing programs such as MINEX, while its facial recognition technology was upgraded last year to offer advanced live video identification and demographic assessment capabilities.
In a statement announcing MegaMatcher ABIS, the company emphasized its versatility in adapting to various client needs, with Business Development Manager Antonello Mincone pointing to Neurotechnology’s growing institutional expertise. “After years of experience working with the major system integrators in the industry, we have greatly expanded our knowledge of the functionality required in large scale biometric projects,” he said, adding that the Neurotechnology team has “put this know-how into MegaMatcher ABIS, a product that makes it easier than ever for integrators to deploy complex multi-biometric solutions.”
The platform operates primarily through web services, and a 30-day free trial is available, allowing potential clients to test Neurotechnology’s claims for themselves.
