NEC Corporation of America (NECAM) has obtained TX-RAMP Level 2 certification for multiple products.
TX-RAMP—the Texas Risk and Authorization Management Program—is a standard concerning the security of cloud computing services and products used by state agencies. It’s similar to the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP), but tailored for the state level in Texas.
Level 2 reflects TX-RAMP’s most stringent protocols. It requires rigorous security controls and continuous monitoring for threats.
NECAM has obtained the certification for its ARS Law Enforcement Biometric Product Suite, which includes its NeoFace Reveal facial recognition system and its Integra-ID multimodal biometric search and storage system. NeoFace Reveal, which NECAM offers to government agencies, is the company’s flagship facial recognition system, supporting both 1:1 and 1:N searches against databases of any size; while Integra-ID is a cloud-hosted solution offering a range of tools for things like image enhancement and editing.
The TX-RAMP also applies to the ARS Law Enforcement Biometric Product Suite’s “Insights” platform, a suite of applications meant to help administrators manage and operate the NeoFace Reveal solution.
“This recognition reflects NEC’s unwavering commitment to providing advanced and secure solutions while prioritizing privacy,” said Gary Lac, NEC Vice President of Solutions Development, ARS. “We understand the importance of safeguarding sensitive data, and this certification reinforces our dedication to maintaining the highest standards of security and compliance in the industry.”
The certification should help to further burnish NECAM’s reputation as a key biometrics vendor in the region, and offers another laurel to the firm’s management after Chris Jackson was named President and CEO of NECAM last year.
