NEC Corporation of America is expanding its UNIVERGE BLUE portfolio with several new smart workplace solutions. The solutions are intended to support digital transformation, and can be deployed on-site or through the cloud as part of a hybrid work environment.
To that end, the Workplace Management solutions in the UNIVERGE portfolio can be used for access control, and for more general office management. With regards to the former, UNIVERGE BLUE SMART ACCESS enables automated and contactless, biometric entry screening for visitors and employees alike, while the SMART CHECK-IN solution brings a similar self-service utility to the hospitality industry. The UNIVERGE BLUE SPACE MANAGEMENT solution, on the other hand, uses data analytics to help organizations make the best use of their office space. The solution provides coverage for physical and remote locations, and can be leveraged for security, or to enforce health, safety and privacy policies.
Finally, the UNIVERGE BLUE MONITOR is a Hosted Video Security offering built to protect a website or an application. The modular UNIVERGE components can be deployed as a standalone solutions, or they can be deployed in conjunction with one another as part of a more comprehensive security setup.
“NEC Smart Workspace brings together advanced applications and real-time data to provide automated, frictionless services that enable a secure, seamless, safe-working, and welcoming customer experience,” said NEC Enterprise Product Development President Ram Menghani.
“Leveraging technology innovation in the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Biometrics, and Cloud Communications improves the way we work and interact in a stimulating environment that maximizes productivity and organizational resilience.”
Other potential applications of the expanded UNIVERGE portfolio include asset and location tracking and digital wayfinding. Each solution can also be customized to reflect an organization’s particular needs and branding.
UNIVERGE BLUE originally debuted back in 2020, delivering a range of contact center, communications, and file sharing utilities. NEC itself has argued that digital identities will serve as the foundation for a growing number of corporate and customer-facing services in the years ahead.
