Navy Hospital to Integrate Corvus Biometric System

Veteran-owned biometrics solutions provider Corvus Integration has won a new contract with the US Navy. The company’s SWFT Enrollment System is going to be used at the Jacksonville Naval Hospital in Florida.

Corvus’s SWFT, or Secure Web Fingerprint Transmission, system is an enrollment platform based on fingerprint scanning and the collection of demographic information. It’s designed primarily to facilitate background checks by reducing paperwork, ensuring that data is accurate, and speeding up the overall process.

It’s the second piece of good news from the company this week, capping an earlier announcement that Corvus’s FaceCube camera would be featured at IBM-hosted exhibits at this year’s Global Identity Summit in Tampa. Both FaceCube and SWFT are timely offerings, with the former riding the rising popularity of facial recognition systems, and the latter tracking with a growing trend of introducing biometric authentication solutions to cut administrative costs in hospitals.
