Namirial says its digital wallet has been validated for interoperability with France Identité, the French government’s national digital identity program, earning what the company calls a “France Identité Ready” badge.
The validation followed interoperability testing carried out through France Identité and the European Union’s EUDI Unfold events, which test how different digital wallets work together ahead of the EU’s 2026 deadline for member states to offer a EU Digital Identity Wallet. France Identité is run by the French Ministry of the Interior and France Titres, and has been adopted by more than 4.5 million citizens as it moves toward compatibility with the eIDAS 2.0 regulation that governs the EU wallet rollout.
With the validation, Namirial Wallet has been added to the France Identité marketplace, where public and private organizations can test interoperability and integration scenarios. Namirial also received France Identité’s “Bridge Builder” award, given to organizations the program says have contributed to interoperability work on the future EU digital identity ecosystem.
“The European digital identity wallet is one of the most ambitious digital projects for Europe,” said Florent Tournois, director of identity, digital and sovereign, at France Identité. “Its success will depend not only on public initiatives but also on the ability of private companies and intermediaries to transform this infrastructure into concrete services that citizens can use in their daily lives.”
Namirial Wallet is built as an API-first platform for issuing, storing, and verifying digital credentials under eIDAS 2.0, and Namirial says it can act in all three roles the EUDI Wallet framework defines: wallet provider, certified attribute issuer, and trusted intermediary. The Paris- and Montpellier-based French unit of the Italian trust-services group, a wholly owned subsidiary of Namirial S.p.A. since 2021, counts Allianz Trade, CNP Assurances, and La Banque Postale among its clients.
The validation adds another wallet provider to an EU rollout that has drawn a mix of national and private-sector entrants, after France Identité opened an iOS sandbox to test its own privacy-preserving age verification, and as Romania has moved to base its national EU wallet on Germany’s open-source model.
