Suprema is a regular at industry events like Mobile World Congress, but this year the company has been able to capitalize on a particularly big trend in the mobile sector: in-display fingerprint sensors. It was actually ahead of the curve, showcasing its BioSign 3.0 software‘s support for in-display fingerprint scanning at last year’s MWC. In the ensuing months, multiple smartphones launched featuring in-display sensors, with Samsung having just become the most high-profile smartphone maker to embrace the technology.
Speaking with FindBiometrics’ Susan Stover on the show floor, Suprema’s head of sales, Samuel Choi, was keen to highlight BioSign 3.0’s continuing importance to the company after helping to deliver the “very meaningful year” that was 2018 for Suprema. Choi also discusses Suprema’s big new contract with Qualcomm and other sensor manufacturers, and plans to further enhance BioSign going forward.
